Exercise and older people

Can regular exercise protect the brain as we age? This article reviews how chronic physical activity can reduce inflammation and support cognitive health in people with Mild Cognitive Impairment or Alzheimer’s Disease.
Older adults exercising for immune health and longevity

The article is a systematic review that examines the exercise effects of chronic physical activity on cognitive outcomes in individuals with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or Alzheimer’s Disease (AD).

The authors included studies using exercise, physical activity, or fitness training as an experimental intervention and measured cytokines or other inflammatory or neuroinflammatory immune markers in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), brain tissue, etc. The researchers assessed the effect of physical activity, stratified based on its type, frequency, volume, intensity, and duration. The review included animal and human studies, and the results showed that chronic physical activity reduced pro-inflammatory markers in both animal and human models. The authors concluded that chronic physical activity positively affected the brain tissue of animals and humans with MCI or AD.

However, more studies are needed to understand the correlation between cytokine levels and cognitive functions.

Epigenetics as a Preventive Tool for a Better Healthspan

What if aging is less about the genes you inherit than the way your lifestyle rewrites them over time? This article explores how epigenetics transforms nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, and environment into measurable biological signals that shape your healthspan long before disease appears.

Your DNA Isn’t Your Destiny — Your Daily Choices Are

What if your biological age is not fixed, but continuously shaped by how you eat, move, sleep, and manage stress? This article explains how epigenetic markers translate everyday choices into measurable changes in aging, and how lifestyle can literally slow—or accelerate—your healthspan.

When Microglia Can’t Clean Up Their Mitochondria

Can damaged mitochondria trap the brain in chronic inflammation and drive depression?
This article explores how mitochondria–lysosome crosstalk failure locks microglia into a self-sustaining inflammatory loop, and how this mechanism connects to sepsis, T cell dysfunction, and the IRG1–itaconate axis.
